REMEMBER – DON’T MISS THIS GATHERING: THAT’S PUZZLING!

Please do plan on attending this Puzzle gathering. Bring any puzzle you would like to trade and pick out something new.  Remember that you must take home any puzzles of yours that are not traded.

Do you enjoy jigsaw puzzles? Many often have one set up all the time in their home, but how often do you want to work on a puzzle you’ve already mastered? We are holding a Jigsaw Puzzle exchange. We hope this exchange will be seasonal – Winter, Spring and Fall. This first gathering will be Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 1 to 2pm at the DRS Community Center. Future dates will be announced. Bring any puzzles you would like to trade. Take a few months to finish puzzles you are working on and be ready to come to the spring puzzle exchange. Watch for future dates! This activity is open to the community.

This will be a short gathering and not a long social event.

Current COVID 19 guidelines will be followed. Please wear a mask.

Additional Zoom Sessions

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Well, I guess we are all glad that 2020 is behind us and think of it as a bad dream.

I hope that the Holidays brought you some joy and that maybe you were able to safely be with family or friends.

I do hope that as COVID 19 numbers decrease, we will be able to start some of our activities again. We all miss being with each other. Book Club, walking, widowed friends and line dancing have started back and are going well. We are social distancing, wearing masks, sanitizing and taking temperatures.

Wishing you all a Happy, and Healthy New Year!

ANNUAL HOLIDAY END OF YEAR REPORT

December 31, 2020
This Annual Report is a requirement of our Club by-laws. This report is usually read in conjunction with our Holiday Luncheon/Annual Meeting. Because of the extraordinary
circumstances of COVID 19, this event was cancelled. The following is a report for filing only:

Membership:
In 2019, we had an increase of 143 members for a total of 562 members by the end of the year. Our present membership in 2020 has decreased to 424, primarily due to
COVID 19.

Financials:

  • General checking account balance is: $9,837.31
  • Bingo checking account balance is: $7,234.57
  • Savings account balance is: $9,754.52

The majority of the money in the savings account is slated for new bingo equipment. Our club funds are used for social events, charity donations, newsletter mailings and
other club needs. Our books are open to all members for review. This season we have donated $300.00 to Satellite Cares through the Satellite Beach Fire Department which provides meals for local shut-ins, families and seniors in need. We thank all of our sponsors for their continued support during this diffi cult year. All of our trips were cancelled, and most activities have been cancelled because of COVID 19. We hope in 2021 things will change and we will be able to resume some normalcy.

HOLIDAY GATHERING CANCELLED

We were very sad to cancel our December holiday gathering. In September, when this event was planned, we had hoped that COVID 19 would have improved by December. In some ways it has, but out of an abundance of caution the 55+ board voted to cancel the Dec. 5th event. It was evident that many members continue to be cautious about venturing out.
