The 55+ Club has had a long history of bus day trips. These trips have been very successful and have provided club members many fond memories. Trips have been provided at a ‘rock bottom price’ as compared to other clubs and travel groups.
This past year many, if not most, of the bus day trips have been cancelled due to a very low number of member sign-ups. This is very disappointing as much time and effort goes into the planning and preparation of these trips. The ultimate purpose is to provide our members with an enjoyable day experience with friends.
It is up to the club membership to decide if providing day bus trips should continue. Why has the sign-up response from our members been so low? What can be done differently to encourage more participation?
Here are some questions to think about:
-What type of destinations do you enjoy for a day trip?
-What activities would you prefer to include on a day trip?
-What travel time do you prefer (Weekdays, Weekends)?
It is up to you, our members, to help answer these questions and decide what you want from the day bus travel activity. Please provide any suggestions or ideas as to how you, the members, see the future of this bus day travel. Change needs to occur. Without change the day bus trip activity will no longer be offered to the 55+ club. It’s up to you.
You may send your comments to any 55+ Club board member. Also, all board members phone numbers are listed on the front page of the newsletter.
Thank you.
