One of the many enjoyable activities that the 55+ Club offers is line dancing. Every week we kick up our heels to nearly all genres of music: Country, Reggae, hip-hop, rock, classical, folk, R&B, soul, and even glide through a waltz now and then.
In addition to making new friends, we not only exercise our bodies, but our minds. Have you ever heard the phrase, “thinking on your feet?” Dancing is brain food, requiring you to learn new patterns and recall routines. It can lower the chance of dementia by 75 percent!
The “Regular” class is every Tuesday at 1:00 and is $2. For more information, call Candy at 321-779-2941.
The “Basic” class is every Thursday at 1:00 and is $3. Call Trudy at 321-223-7249. Both classes meet for an hour in Studio 2 at the DRS Community Center, 1089 S. Patrick Drive in Satellite Beach.
No partners are required, just a desire to get out of the house and have fun. Line dancing is a great way to meet new people, build confidence, improve coordination, increase bone density, boost your memory, burn calories, lift your mood, and have fun. Put on your dancing shoes and come join us!
