Paintings by Frances Gordon
Frances Gordon is quite a talented lady. She was born and raised in the New England area and moved to New York with her husband Donald. Together they had two sons and had often vacationed in the Cocoa Beach area.
Donald simply hated the cold weather in NY, so in 1978 they decided to permanently move to Florida. In NY Frances worked in a department
store for 24 years and Donald worked for TWA where he eventually retired. Once in Florida, Frances became a Avon representative where
she will tell you she made many friends. Donald has since passed away, but Frances says “those were 51 years of great times”!
Painting has always been a part of Frances’s life. Years ago she took an art class in oils with a friend, who later convinced her to try watercolor. She was a member of Brevard Watercolor Society and currently her art work hangs on the walls of the Suntree Café on South Patrick Drive. She signs her art work using the name Adell, in memory of her grandmother by the same name.
Her niece Patricia has recently begun a new business venture for Frances. She’s currently working on a website where t-shirts and bags with various art work of Frances’ can be ordered. “This is Tish‘s idea and she will be handling all of that, I don’t do computers”! says Frances. The website address isn’t available as of yet, but watch for more information on the 55+ Club’s website or ask Frances at a later date.
Frances joined the 55+ Club in 2003 and enjoys playing cards, Mahjongg and going on trips. Her faithful companion is her gray cat Junney whom she said showed up as a kitten on her door step over 10 years ago. Keeping busy is her mantra and she jokes that she’s still waiting for Mr. Right!
