On August 4th the club’s Executive Board and Committee members met. Many things were discussed and 55+ Club activities were on the top of the list! All decided that we would continue with the earlier decision not to start most programs until after September. Each activity was discussed in depth and what the concerns would be for each. During Florida’s Phase II we are not allowed to gather in groups of more than 50, the capacity of each room at the DRS Community Center has been lowered due to the social distance requirement and masks are required in all city buildings. We wish we had better news, but the safety of our members has to be our primary concern. If you need assistance and you live in the city limits of Satellite Beach, the Police Department has a Stop By and Say Hi Program. Call them at 321/773-4400.
The Satellite Beach Fire Dept. has a Community Paramedic Program and their number is 321/773-4405. They can help with other needs also. If you don’t live within the SB city limits these departments may be able to guide you to find assistance within your community.
The next board meeting will be held on September 16th at 10:00am and the location will either be the DRS Community Center or Pelican Beach Park Pavilions. Contact Louise at 321/202-7337 or [email protected] for location. All are welcome. At that time, we will discuss club programs and issues, and depending on the statistics in Florida regarding COVID-19 an updated decision will be made regarding club activities.
