LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Happy New Year 55+

First let me say thank you to all of you, the club members, for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your president. I appreciate your confidence, and I will do my best to not let you down. I am looking forward to another successful year filled with fellowship, fun and very importantly learning new ways to navigate these complicated senior years.

We have a great variety of sponsors and guest speakers who come every month to share their experience and knowledge to help us accomplish just that.

If you have seen our activity listing, then you know that The 55+ Club has something for almost everyone and we are always open to suggestions if you are looking for something that we currently don’t offer. Beyond that activity list we have special events every year. For example, this past year we had a Kentucky Derby Day. If you missed that one, I’m sorry. It was fun!

So, I encourage you all to participate in the things we offer. Our activity chairpersons put their all into making sure we get the most out of each program. Honestly, I don’t think you can have this much fun and meet such great people anywhere for a membership fee of $11 a year!

I would like to add here that the one thing that makes all of this happen is our volunteers. An organization this size just can’t have too many volunteers. The adage “many hands make light work” is very true and that makes special events even more fun! So, I ask that if you are physically able (and we don’t ask much that is especially difficult) please join us.

The more volunteers we have the fewer times we will have to call on you so keep that in mind. I look forward to working with all of you in the coming year!

Wishing you good health, peace and happiness always,
Vicki Stevens
