Along US1 in the Eau Gallie area you can’t miss The Big Orange, a 15 ft tall concrete and steel orange that has been a local landmark since the 1960’s. That Big Orange stands beside the Dis-abled American Veterans Chapter 32 at 2265 North Harbor City Blvd. What you might be interested in knowing is this DAV Chapter 32 has become an important lifeline for disabled veterans throughout the Melbourne and Brevard County area, helping former service members navigate the often-complicated process of securing benefits and medical support though the Dept. of Veter-ans Affairs. One of their primary roles is to work directly with the veterans, guiding them through the entire process of filing for VA benefits. Very often, veterans feel overwhelmed and when that happens this organization can manage the claim paperwork on their behalf.
Operations are from 8am to 1pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All DAV services for area veterans and their families, including claims help and advocacy, are provided at “no cost”. The office is closed on the second Wednesday of each month. For more information and assistance, con-tact the DAV Chapter 32 at 321/259-4827
